Last weekend I took my daughter shopping and one of the places she wanted to go was Plato's Closet. If you've never heard of it, it's a really "trendy" second hand shop for the young set. You can find really nice, name brand clothes and accessories in the current styles and their prices are *really* good. So off we went to see what we could find.
Of course when we get there my daughter dives right in. She is 17 and there is so much there just right for her age group. Usually I make myself busy looking at the hand bags and scarves and such. I have to say....as well as finding my daughter some really nice clothes, I actually made out quite well myself! I love Vera Bradley bags and accessories. For the price of one new Vera bag in the mall I was able to find:
A large Vera weekender duffel bag and a purse to match.
Three more Vera purses.
A Vera laptop case.
And a small Vera jewelry case that I'm keeping on my bathroom counter to keep my "every day" jewelry conveniently in reach.
I also found a pair of Ugg shoes in my size. I think they are intended to wear out as normal shoes because they have regular soles. But I keep shoes of the fuzzy variety for home wear. I spend a good amount of time in autumn and winter working to keep my feet very warm. So these have already been put to use and are perfect.
I really didn't intend to find that much for myself in that store. So I was very much pleasantly surprised. We love to thrift shop together. You never know what treasures you will find!
